A midair emergency on board a flight from New Zealand to Australia caused an early landing at Sydney International Airport on Thursday morning.
The emergency occurred on board Air New Zealand’s Flight NZ101 from Auckland to Sydney about 8am.
“A medical event took place on board flight NZ101 from Auckland to Sydney this morning,” Air New Zealand chief operational integrity and safety officer David Morgan said.

“You’ll appreciate for privacy reasons, we are unable to share any further information.”

The flight landed 11 minutes early at 8.39am.
Paramedics were called to the international terminal about 8.15am.
They treated the patient, who did not require hospitalisation.
